Voermans signs with Montana Tech for track

Columbia Falls senior Lane Voermans has signed with Montana Tech in Butte to compete on the college’s track team.
Voermans won the state A title in the discus as a sophomore and senior and was runner-up as a junior. He also set the discus record at the Whitefish A.R.M. meet earlier this season. In addition, he is one of the top shot-put throwers in the state and was an all-state lineman for the Columbia Falls football team both on offense and defense.
He said he plans on majoring in welding technology and business economics. He said in college he plans on competing in shot put, discus and possibly the hammer.
