Disc golf approved for River’s Edge Park
The Columbia Falls City Council approved a 9-hole disc golf course at River’s Edge Park last week.
The council gave the nod to the course after hearing from members of the Flathead Disc Golf Association.
The golfers said that safety is important and they don’t throw the discs if people are in the way of the course. They might host tournaments in the park in the future.
The association will pay the $6,500 in costs associated with the course, which includes cement pads and metal baskets. The idea is to throw the disc into the basket.
The idea of a disc golf course at the park is part of the park’s master plan.
