Glacier National Park plows have made it to Logan Pass and are working near the Big Drift and the pass parking area, though it could easily take a few more weeks for the road to fully open over the pass to motor vehicles.

For example, last year at this time last year park plows were also at or near Logan Pass, but late May/early June snows hampered final clearing efforts and the road fully opened to vehicles on June 22.

Late May and June can have very fickle weather in Glacier National Park.

The National Weather Service is saying Logan Pass could see snow Sunday into Monday, with unsettled weather next week as well.

Glacier has seen heavy rain at times the past week.

The Sun Road is currently open on the west side to Avalanche Creek to motor vehicles and hikers and bikers to Packer’s Roost when road crews are working. On the east side people can drive as far as Jackson Glacier Overlook with a hiker/biker closure at Siyeh Bend.

Most park secondary roads are open, save for the road to Kintla Lake, which is closed at Doverspike Meadow and the Inside North Fork Road to Logging Creek and to Camas Creek.

Outside of the Park, the Chief Mountain Customs border crossing is now open and the Looking Glass Highway 49 is open near Two Medicine.

The Inside North Fork Road between Camas and Logging is closed to all entry currently due to bear danger. That section is closed to motor vehicles anyway.
