After a years long hiatus, Key Club back at high school
The Key Club has been revived at Columbia Falls High School by several students and advisor Jessica Moultray.
Student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives.
The Columbia Falls club faded away during the pandemic, but Moultray, who teaches business classes at the high school along with several enterprising students, decided to start the club back up again in February.
Club members and a host of other students recently cleaned up the streets and grounds from the school north to nearly Highway 2, collecting almost a full dumpster full of garbage and other debris. They did the work with the help of Hanson’s Hardware, which gave the club a break on supply costs and from Swank Enterprises, a local construction company.
They also bought pizzas to feed the crew when all the work was done.
They had a bake sale to raise money for the supplies. Hana Houston is the president of the club. They’re currently working on getting more projects in the pipeline and have been reaching out to local agencies to see if they need any volunteer help.
