Folks hiking and biking the Going-to-the-Sun Road can go as far as the Loop on the west side and Jackson Glacier Overlook on the east side this weekend.

The Park initially said people could go as far as road camp, but then avalanche debris went over the road and they closed it back down to the Loop.

Plow crews are through Big Bend and have pioneered down to pavement from Rip Rap Point to the Arches, which is a little more than two miles from Logan Pass, noted park spokeswoman Gina Icenoggle.

In other road news, the Two Medicine Road is also now open to vehicles for the season.

The Going-to-the-Sun Road on the west side is open to Lake McDonald Lodge to vehicles and hikers and bikers beyond that. On the east side, it’s open to Rising Sun and hikers and bikers beyond that.

The weather this weekend is expected to be sunny Saturday, but there’s an 80% chance of rain Sunday.

Other secondary roads open to motor vehicles include the Many Glacier, Chief Mountain, Camas, Grist and Quarter Circle Bridge roads.
