Swim team starts out season with a meet victory

| June 11, 2025 7:00 AM

Columbia Falls Swim team had its first meet last weekend in Shelby. The kids have had little to no practice and they performed amazingly while showing improved athleticism, coach Kyle Babcock noted.

The team traveled with a number of veteran swimmers and quite a few new swimmers. CFST took first place overall and captured four of 10 high point trophies. Kudos to Braydon Bigelow, Quinten Babcock, Payson Scribner and Fjord Borgen for high point achievements.

“I was extremely impressed with how our kids swam,” coach Babcock said.

This week the team begins their intense seven-week training; where they will swim more than a 100 miles preparing for the state tournament.

The kids work really hard and many end up being the lifeguards that support our community.

“These kids are champions inside and outside the pool,”  Babcock said.

The team heads to the Bitterroot June 14-15.
