MatCats do well at Whitefish duals

Columbia Falls put together a strong showing at the Whitefish Duals last weekend, securing three decisive dual victories against Whitefish, Polson, and Browning with a combination of dominant pins, technical falls, and key forfeits.

In their marquee matchup against Northwestern A Conference rival Whitefish, the Wildcats controlled the action, earning a 38-17 win. Angel Lorenzana Enriquez battled through a tough match at 118 pounds to claim a 14-11 decision, while Dylan Delorme gave the score table a workout with an 18-2 technical fall at 157 pounds. Columbia Falls capitalized on five forfeits, adding crucial points to their tally and sealing the dual victory.

The Wildcats carried their momentum into their dual against Polson, delivering a commanding 46-24 win. The team racked up six falls, highlighted by Fisher Whitaker’s lightning-quick 35-second pin at 138 pounds. Kolbe Cronk (126 pounds), Bradley Beck (132), Kale Schaeffer (144), and Dylan Delorme (157) all added pins to the team’s total, while Blaise Cronk dominated his opponent with a 17-0 technical fall at 165 pounds.

Against a strong Browning team, Columbia Falls continued their impressive run with a 47-28 victory, once again showcasing their ability to secure pins. Six Wildcats earned falls, with Kolbe Cronk (126), Bradley Beck (132), Fisher Whitaker (138), Dylan Delorme (157), Adam Lolli (215), and Angel Lorenzana Enriquez (118) all recording wins by pin. The Wildcats wasted no time in some of these matchups, as Lolli, Delorme, and Beck each secured their falls in under a minute. Winslow Peter also contributed with a dominant 20-3 technical fall at 175 pounds.

The Cats travel to Browning for the Western A Divisional tourney this weekend.
