Tree trimming on Highway 2

| April 30, 2025 7:45 AM

This spring, Flathead Electric Cooperative will perform tree trimming and other vegetation management work on Highway 2, mile markers 154-174, between West Glacier and Pinnacle. Work will take place Monday, May 5 through Monday, June 23. Flagging will occur intermittently Monday – Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will from time to time require a one lane closure of Highway 2. Traffic control measures will be in place when crews are present.

In 2024, FEC was awarded a Wildfire Assessment and Resilience for Networks grant to modernize and strengthen the electric grid, protect customers’ access to electricity during wildfires, and mitigate the risk of wildfires. Part of FEC’s WARN grant funds vegetation management from West Glacier to Essex. This year’s work will be done between West Glacier and Pinnacle. In 2026, work will be performed from Pinnacle to Essex. To learn more about the WARN grant, visit https://www.flatheadelectric.com/about-my-co-op/grants/warn/
