A Columbia Falls rapist has been sentenced to two 40-year concurrent prison terms for allegedly sexually abusing a victim repeatedly over the years.

According to court documents, David Elven Kellogg, 55, sexually abused a victim starting at the age of 11.

They met over social media, and  Kellogg provided money, drugs and other gifts in exchange for sex.

Court documents state that the victim showed investigating officers sexually explicit messages and photos on the cellphone allegedly sent by Kellogg. The victim detailed one alleged incident in September 2021 where they were brutally raped at Kellogg’s home, at which time they decided to call law enforcement.

The victim also told officers that Kellogg would record the assaults on video.

According to court documents, a search of Kellogg’s home allegedly led to the discovery of numerous videos of Kellogg sexually assaulting the victim and other young children at what appeared to be his home.

The case goes back years and the victim is an adult today.

Officers seized 14 cellphones, three computers, one tablet, nine storage cards, a digital camera and a video recorder from Kellogg’s home on Dec. 13, 2021, after police executed a search warrant.

Judge Heidi Ulbricht handed down the sentence on Aug. 26 after Kellogg agreed to plead guilty to one count each of sexual intercourse without consent and sexual abuse of children.

Ulbricht placed no parole restrictions on the case.

The case was investigated by Gary Denham, who was a detective and later a lieutenant with the Columbia Falls Police at the time.
