The Dessert Challenge, sponsored by the Columbia Falls Historical Society, was held Sept. 17 in the Chapel at the Montana Veterans Home.
There were five categories to choose from to enter, Chocolate, Huckleberry, Gluten Free, Under 12 and other. Plenty of time was available for the public to sample all the yummy desserts while Susan Stapley gave a very informative talk about early Columbia Falls. The public voted for the best dessert in each category.
The winners were:
• Chocolate, Lois Smith for Chocolate Marshmallow Strawberry Fudge Bars
• Gluten Free, Dusty Johnson
• Other, Lolah Blume for White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Lime Cookies,
• Under 12, Ezra Blume, 7, for lemon sugar cookies.
• Best Overall winner was Ezra Blume as well.
