Update: Alpine section of the Going-to-the-Sun Road reopens, but only from east side

Folks Jonesing to see Logan Pass one last time will still have an opportunity. The Going-to-the-Sun Road from Jackson Glacier Overlook up to the pass reopened Friday morning.

But the road remains closed from Avalanche Creek to the pass on the west side.

The alpine section of the Sun Road will close for the winter season at midnight on Sunday and won't reopen until next spring.

Secondary roads in Glacier remain open and on the west side, the larch trees are starting to round into peak fall colors.
