Multi-vehicle accident at River Road, Highway 2
The scene of an accident at River Road and Highway 2 Friday night about 9 p.m. Motorists were being turned around before the bridge until it can be cleaned up. Roads are extremely icy.
There's a multi-vehicle accident at Highway 2 and River Road at this hour. The bridge was temporarily closed until the debris and cars can be removed. One vehicle appeared to be heavily damaged but all the occupants were out. Scanner traffic said four vehicles total were involved.
The roads are extremely icy as it rained all day in Columbia Falls. The bridge was slick with ice.
Columbia Falls and Bad Rock fire departments as well as Three Rivers EMS responded to the scene.
Snow started to fall earlier this afternoon right at the Bad Rock Canyon and up to West Glacier, where heavy snow was falling in Glacier National Park.
A winter storm warning is up for the East Glacier Park region tomorrow.
