Track does well at ARM, Top 10
Malaki Simpson had more strong outings in track last week.
The senior sprinter won the 100 meters at the Whitefish ARM meet Saturday with a time of 11.05. In the Top 10 meet in Missoula last Tuesday, Simpson was third in the 100 and won the 200 with a time of 22:05.
Lane Voermans took fifth in the discus.
Also at Whitefish ARM, Jack Phelps was second in the 400 with a 51.93; Quinn Clark took fourth in the 800 with a 2:05.93,.
The Wildcats won the 4x400 relay with a 3:37.32; Voermans won the discus with a 158-10 and Joe West was third in the javelin with a 143-11. Blaise Cronk tied for first in the pole vault with a leap of 10 feet. Stanley Stremick was third in the triple jump and Jadon Persinger was fourth with leaps of 41-7, 39-1 respectively. Banyan Johnson was fifth with a 38-11.
The boys took third, the girls took second.
On the girls’ side, Chloe Savoy was fourth in the 400 with a 1.06.03; Mya Badger was fifth in the 1,600 with a 5:48.02; Marissa Schaeffer was second in the 3,200 with a 12.29.81 while Mila Johns was third with a 12:30.6; and Ashley Andrews was fourth with a 12:33.73.
Aubrey Smith was third in the 100 hurdles with a 17.76 and Cora Hannan nabbed fourth in the 300 hurdles while Ilah McKenzie was fifth with times of 53.2 and 54.89 respectively.
The girls were third in the 4x100 replay with a 53.2 and won the 400 relay with a 4.37.44.
Ellie Stutsman was third in the shot put with a 31-11.5 throw and took third in the discus with a 103-4 throw. In the javelin she took fourth with a 103-4.
In pole vault, Shelby Norman was second with an 8-6 leap and Courtney Hussion was fifth with a 8-0.
Hussion won the long jump with a 16-0.
McKenzie took third in the triple jump and Sierra Born was fourth; Taryn Borgen was fifth. They had jumps of 32-.025, 31-11 and 31-4 respectively.
The Cats hosted a triangular Tuesday after presstime with Whitefish and Bigfork then travel to Kalispell for the Archie Roe tourney Saturday.
