Wildkats blank Bravettes

The Columbia Falls softball team opened its season on the road in Polson, dropping AA Flathead 16-0 in a tourney that was cut short by bad weather in the form of snow.

Demye Rensel cracked a solo homer in the fourth, Maddie Moultray and Annika Reid doubled in the first and Haden Peters doubled in the fourth, driving in three runs.

Moultray’s double in the first drove across two runs and Reid’s double drove in three.

The game was over on the 10-run rule after four innings.

Moultray got the win on the mound, striking out six in four innings.

The Wildkats host Browning next Tuesday at home and then host Kalispell Glacier Friday night at 5 p.m.
