Twins split with Mavericks, improve to 11-2

The Glacier Twins fell to the Missoula Mavericks in their doubleheader opener on Wednesday, June 19, but bounced back with an 11-8 victory in the nightcap.

The Mavericks held Glacier to three hits in the first game while collecting nine of their own. Maddox Muller, Treyson Murphy, and Trenton Derosa had hits for the Twins.

Missoula led 4-0 after two innings and scored two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth. Glacier committed three errors in the game.

In the second game, Nolan Amerman went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in an 11-8 victory over the Mavericks. Trailing 4-3 in the top of the fourth, Glacier scored four runs to go up 7-4. Missoula tied things up in the bottom of the fifth but the Twins scored another four runs in the sixth.

Glacier finished with ten hits, including two triples and two RBI by Jake McIntyre. Trenton Derosa had a double, while Kellen Kroger drove in two runs with a double. 

Twins shut down Medicine Hat

Glacier shut out Medicine Hat 11-0 in American Legion action on Friday, June 21. Trenton Derosa pitched five innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four, while Amerman West finished out the final inning, striking out one.

The Twins had twelve hits, including two hits by Stevyn Andrachick, Michael Miller and Derosa had two hits. Kellen Kroger went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Derosa finished with two RBI.

Matthew Mitts had a double, while Kroger had a triple, as did Andrachick.

Medicine Hat committed eight errors in the game.

Glacier downs Lethbridge

Glacier finished with 18 hits and downed Lethbridge 18-8 in American Legion Baseball action on Saturday, June 22. Jake McIntyre had two triples and an RBI, while Stevyn Andrahick had two hits, including a double and two RBI.

The game was tied 3-3 after three innings, but Glacier scored 13 runs in the fourth inning on their way to victory. Maddox Muller had a double and multiple hits, while Michael Miller had two hits and three RBI. 

West Amerman had two hits and two RBI in the victory. Lethbridge had seven hits and committed four errors. Muller pitched the first three innings, striking out four.

Glacier topples Calgary

Twins’ pitching proved strong again with an 8-1 victory over Calgary Premier Blue on Saturday, June 22 on Saturday, June 22. Calgary was held to four hits, while Glacier had 13.

West Amerman pitched the game's final five innings, striking out four and scattering four hits, while Matthew Mitts started the game, striking out three in two innings.

Leadoff hitter Stevyn Andrahick went 3-for-4, while Michael Miller had two hits, including a double and an RBI. Kellen Kroger drove in two runs as well.

Glacier led 5-1 after three innings, added another run in the fourth and two runs in the sixth. 

Twins Bruise MooseJaw

Glacier had big rallies in a 17-7 victory over the Moosejaw Canucks in American Legion action on Sunday, June 23. The Twins had 14 hits, including a 3-for-3 performance by Maddox Muller that brought home three runs and included a triple.

Leadoff hitter Stevyn Andrachick was 4-for-4 with three RBI and a double, while Kellen Kroger hit two doubles and brought in two runs. Nolan Amerman had two hits and brought in two runs as well. 

Glacier led 12-5 after three innings and scored four runs in the fifth, a run in the fifth, and four runs in the sixth.

Treyson Murphy pitched the first four innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out four. Michael Miller finished out the game, striking out two. 

Glacier Takes Down Lethbridge

Glacier scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth and defeated the Lethbridge Lakers B team 13-8 in American Legion Baseball action on Sunday, June 23.

Nolan Amerman went 4-for-4 with a triple and four RBI, while Stevyn Andrahick had a triple and an RBI in the victory.

Maddox Muller also had two hits and four RBI, while Kellen Kroger drove in three runs.

On the mound, Dawson Juntunen pitched four and one-third inning with five strikeouts, while Andrachick finished off the game with two strikeouts. 

Glacier is now 11-2 on the season.
