Badrock 15U Baseball, which is made up of Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Eureka youth baseball players, is hosting the first annual Badrock Invitational at Glacier Bank Park, the home of the Glacier Range Riders June 27-June 30th. The tournament is a double elimination with a four-game guarantee. Teams that are attending are The 406 Flyers out of Billings, Federal Way out of Seattle, Mission Valley Mariners, Libby Loggers, Kalispell Sluggers, Flathead A’s and host Badrock Baseball.
“We wanted to make this first year mostly a local tournament so everyone can come watch local athletes compete in the nation’s top minor league stadium,” organizer Ray Queen said. “We are very honored to host this event thanks to Ridge Run Operator. The Glacier Range Riders have become a beloved local minor league team for the Flathead Valley and we want to make this tournament an annual event, so we really want it to come out as a hit.”
The Sapa-Johnsrud Tournament was hosted at Glacier Bank Park for high school baseball and was very well attended. Local fans and family will be able to enjoy players performing on an all turf field with beautiful stadium surroundings with concessions being offered. Queen is the head coach of Badrock assisted by Josh Mintz, Rich Piatowski and Jacob Polumbus.
Badrock opens play at 12:30 p.m. June 27 against Libby.
