Community events: Concert series, summer camps, fire meeting all coming up

Concert series

The Columbia Falls Lions Club Summer Concert Series will once again be at Marantette Park this summer. Here’s a lineup of the shows on tap:

• Thursday, June 27, 7-8:30 p.m., Don Lawrence Orchestra

• Thursday, July 25, Heritage Days, 7-8:30 p.m., Flathead Valley Community Band

• Thursday, Aug. 8, 7-8:30 p.m., Roots Uprising Band

All concerts are sponsored by Glacier Bank. Free entry to all concerts, but donations are accepted. Any questions can be sent to Steve Melby of the Lions Club at (406) 249-5547

Annual fire meeting

The annual West Glacier Community fire meeting is June 17 from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. From 3:30 to 5 p.m. fire managers will show folks a home pre-mitigation at 130 Glacier Ridge Drive and if there’s time, a home post mitigation. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a talk at the Montana House in Apgar Village in Glacier National Park with officials from Flathead County, the Park Service, the Forest Service, the Coram-West Glacier Fire Department and from Scott Countryman on homeowners insurance.

Anyone from the area interested in wildfire is encouraged to attend this free event.

Farming For the Future Academy will be holding free STEAM camps for kids of all ages. Please go to to register

 14th Learn to frame your own artwork


June 17-21  Solar camp Water Heater, 9:30 a.m. -Noon

   17th Build a frame for heater

   18th – 20th Paint, construct, and plumb heater

   21st Hook up heater to water source and shower party


June 24 -28 Make Your Own Felted Camp Shoes 6–8 p.m.

    24th Measure and wrap resist

    25th – 27th Felt and finish shoes

    28th End of Camps Pizza Party
