Glacier Twins win division, punch ticket to state tourney

The Glacier Twins won the Western A District Tournament over Kalispell on Sunday, beating the Lakers, 4-1 for the title.
Trenton Derosa pitched six innings, scattering six Laker hits, while Glacier scored all four of its runs in the first inning. Stevyn Andrachick picked up the save, striking out one in the final inning.
Jacob McIntyre drove in two runs, while Maddox Muller swatted in a score.
The win advances the Twins to the Class A State Tournament this weekend in Polson as the West’s No. 1 seed
Glacier Wins Western A District Opener
The Twins opened up the Western A District Tournament in Florence with a 4-1 victory over Libby on Thursday, July 25. Michael Miller pitched five innings, allowing just one hit, while Maddox Muller shut the door in the final two innings.
Glacier took a 2-0 lead in three innings. After Libby scored a run in the fourth inning, the Twins responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Glacier finished with nine hits in the contest.
Noah Amerman, Matthew Mitts, and Dawson Juntunen each drove in runs for the Twins. Juntunen was 2-for-3, Trenton Derosa had a double, and Jacob McIntyre had a triple.
Glacier Doubles Up Kalispell
The Twins started early and often in a 10-5 victory over Kalispell Lakers in the Western A District Quarterfinals on Friday, July 26.
Noah Amerman drove in four runs, smacking a double and a triple in the win. Glacier scored two runs in the first and four runs in the second. After Kalispell cut the lead to 6-4, the Twins scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the sixth.
The Lakers committed four errors in the contest, while Kellen Kroger and Juntunen limited them to just six hits total.
Glacier Topples Red Sox In Semifinals
It took just one inning for Glacier to score enough runs to defeat the Bitterroot Red Sox 7-6 in the Western A District Tournament on Saturday, July 27.
Bitterroot led 1-0 through four innings, but in the bottom of the fifth, the Twins scored all seven of its runs. Noah Amerman and Dawson Juntunen each drove in two runs in the fifth. Amerman had a triple, while Jacob McIntyre and Michael Miller had doubles in the contest. Miller also had an RBI in the fifth.
Maddox Muller started for Glacier on the mound, going six innings, striking out four, while Stevyn Andrachick pitched the final inning, striking out two.
Glacier is now 32-11 on the season.
