Jean Ann Sedivy, of Columbia Falls, Montana, passed peacefully on June 19, 2024. Jean was born in Whitefish on June 8, 1943, to Marvin (Bud) Knapton and Irene Voigt Knapton.

Jean was raised in Whitefish with her parents and 3 younger siblings — Patricia (Patti) Sanderson, Mary Knapton, and Bill Knapton. She attended Whitefish High School, married Clifford Lee Sedivy in 1963 at the St. Richard Catholic Church in Columbia Falls. Together, they had three children: Scott, born in 1964; Mark, born in 1967; and Lisa, born in 1973. Jean opened “Hair by Jeannie” in Columbia Falls. Her specialty was doing ‘shampoo and sets’ but also did a lot of perms in the ‘80s. The business ran from 1980-1996.

Jean enjoyed camping and fishing in her early days, cooking, shopping, gardening, and later spent much time with her friends doing quilting/crafting and other church functions. She and Cliff spent time traveling to see the grandkids in Idaho until they both could no longer. They enjoyed each other’s company and would frequent their cabin up the North Fork to cook a hot dog and pick a few huckleberries. Jean liked watching Mark’s boys catch fish and play on the lake. She was always ready with a great lunch for everyone to enjoy. Jean spent most Sunday’s attending church service as well as volunteering at the St. Richard Catholic Church in Columbia Falls.

Jean is survived by her sister, Mary Knapton; first son, Scott Sedivy; second son, Mark Sedivy; daughter, Lisa Sedivy Hoskins; grandsons, Zachary Sedivy, Damon Sedivy, Cameron Hoskins; granddaughters, Meredith Hoskins, Madison Hoskins; chosen family and beloved friends.
