Janis Hammons, 79

Janis Hammons, age 79, passed away on Feb. 15, 2024, at her home in Martin City, Montana with her loving family by her side.

She was born May 16, 1944, in Eureka, Montana to Lawrence and Elouise Berg. She was raised in Fortine and Eureka area. She married Donald James Hammons, and they raised four children together. Donald passed away in 1991. She then met her life partner on Nov. 20, 1993, and they were together until her passing.

Janis graduated from Eureka High School and then earned her associate degree from FVCC in dietary management.

She worked for Immanuel Lutheran Home and Buffalo Hill Terrace untilshe retired.

She enjoyed picking huckleberries and making baby blankets for her grand and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Donald James, son James Donald, and sisters Patsy and Sharon.

She is survived by her life partner; Louis John Roberts, children; Sheila, Wendy, and Robin, siblings; Pam and Larry, grandchildren; Kelsi, Colton, Tristen, Shannon,Eric, Kelly, Kaitlin, and Vicky. Great grandchildren; Rylee, Fae, Theodore, Aubrey, Mckinnin, Skyler, Jack, Gwen, Austin, Kai, Hunter, Riley, and Maizie.
