A man currently faces a potential charge of attempted deliberate homicide after a shooting incident in Hungry Horse Sunday night.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a man, later identified as Adrian Gengler, 28, shooting a firearm outside a store about 8:48 p.m. on Highway 2 East.

Concurrently, they received reports of Gengler allegedly shooting at another person and was seen fleeing the scene on foot.  Deputies responded and located a man matching the suspect description hiding behind a building, armed with a handgun.

They were able to apprehend the suspect without injury.  Interviews of witnesses and victims at the scene, along with evidence processing, resulted in the arrest of Gengler, who allegedly shot at four individuals, striking two vehicles, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Department said in a release.

Employees locked themselves inside the store during the incident, according to police reports.

Gengler is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on $175,000 bail pending formal charges.
