A host of holiday concerts are on tap next week and week after

A host of holiday concerts are on tap this month from area schools.

Glacier Gateway Elementary School will hold its in-school concerts on Thursday, Dec. 12. Grades 1-3 are from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. and grades 4 and 5 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The Kindergarten will have a winter musical performance at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24. 

In addition, Glacier Gateway students from Mary Ellen Getts and Kyle Hubbard’s classes will sing Christmas carols at the Montana Veterans Home and Beehive Homes Dec. 18. They’ll be at the Vets Home from 12:30 to 12:50 p.m. and then Beehive from 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. 

Ruder Elementary School has its Christmas concerts Dec. 19 with second and third grades at 1:30 p.m. and kindergarten and first graders at 2:30 p.m. 

The junior high will have its choir concert the evening of Dec. 12 and the band is the evening of Dec. 17. 

The Columbia Falls High School will have its winter band concert Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Little Theater, and the Jazz Cafe at 5 p.m. Sunday,  Dec. 15 at Cedar Creek Lodge. 

The annual event is the musical highlight of the season and features the Columbians, Sonifers, and Jazz Factory.  Coffee and cookies will be served.  Donations will be accepted to help send the band to Seattle this spring.  

The high school choir concert is 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Little Theater. 

Deer Park will have its art show and concert at 5 p.m. Dec. 11.
