Twins end great season at Northwest Regionals

The Glacier Twins and Gallatin Valley Outlaws may have been declared co-champions at the State A legion tournament, but Saturday the two teams finally settled the score in a loser out game at the Northwest A legion tournament.
Brody Ayers drove in four runs to help the Outlaws eliminate the Twins, 9-1, ending Glacier’s season.
Glacier opened up the 2024 Class A Northwest Regional Tournament in Roseburg, Oregon, with a 5-4 victory over Dr. Randol on Wednesday, August 7. The Twins had 13 hits and Maddox Muller went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
After a scoreless three innings, Glacier scored two runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth. Dr. Randol tied the game back up, but the Twins notched the winning score in the top of the seventh.
Glacier overcame three errors. Muller pitched four innings and scattered two hits while striking out three. Trenton Derosa and Dawson Juntunen finished out the final three innings, striking out three.
Noah Amerman went 3-for-4 with a double, while Michael Miller went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
On Thursday, Glacier took down Cashe 5-3 behind a strong pitching performance by Kellen Kroger. Kroger went six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and allowing just one earned run.
Kroger also went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Michael Miller and Matthew Mitts also had multiple hits. Miller had an RBI and triple, while Jacob McIntyre had a double.
The Twins suffered their first loss on Friday, Aug. 9, to eventual regional champ Eagle River by a score of 13-4. Eagle River built a 6-4 lead through three innings and then scored five runs in the fourth.
Glacier had five errors in the game, while Eagle River had 16 hits.
Stevyn Andrachick, Kellen Kroger, and Dawson Juntunen each drove in runs, while Kroger had a triple.
The Twins finished the season 42-15.
