Boys take title at Iceberg Invitational

The Columbia Falls boys took first and the girls took second at the Iceberg Invite track meet Saturday at home.

Malaki Simpson led the boys with a first in the 100 and 200 meters and the boys won the 4x100 relay. 

Lane Voermans won the discus and Oliver Kress the pole vault. The boys took second in the 4 x 400 relay and had some other solid performances as well.

On the girls’ side, Ellie Stutsman won the javelin and took third in the discus and fifth in the shot put; Ashley Andrews was second in the 800 meters and  Aubrey Smith was third in the 100 hurdles.

The girls were also second in the 4 x 400 relay.

Other notable performances included Kai Golan, fourth in the 100; Banyan Johnson, second in the 110 hurdles and Voermans took second in the shot put.

Joe West took second in the javelin for the Wildcats. They traveled to Missoula for the Top 10 meet Tuesday after presstime and then are at the Whitefish ARM meet Saturday.
