The Columbia Falls football team got back on the winning track for Homecoming last week, downing Polson 42-0 for a key conference win.

The Wildcats went to the air as senior quarterback Cody Schweikert hit wide receiver Jace Hill for two TD receptions and Lane Hoerner for one in the rout.

Alihn Anderson also had a 21-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter.

Schweikert also ran in for two more scores. The Cats were up 28-0 at the break, as kicker Kai Golan was also perfect on extra points.

The Cats defense picked off Polson four times in the win. Mark Robison had two picks and Anderson and Hill each had one as the Cats had a stellar night defensively.

Schweikert completed 17 of 23 passes for 232 yards.

The Cats are now 3-2 overall and the Polson win was a great way to go into a bye week.

The squad plays Libby Oct. 6 at home, which is senior night, and then wraps up the regular season on the road against Bigfork and Ronan. The Ronan game is a Thursday night matchup with a 6 p.m. start Oct. 19.

The Cats will be looking to win out the season and capture the conference title.
