Sept. 11
A tow truck was called to remove a vehicle reported stuck on the railroad tracks. A drunk driver was reported on Highway 2.
Sept. 12
On Sixth Avenue, someone tried to steal a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, evidenced by a break in and the steering column being askew. A disorderly call was made on a pair of neighbors “at war” on Talbot Road, where the male neighbor was found putting up property line markers, which the woman took down claiming they were on her property. On Frontage Road, a man on parole was called in for a verbal disagreement resulting in threats with his family; nothing about the incident violated his parole.
Sept. 13
A concerned citizen called in five teenagers hanging out at a Seventh Street playground, citing an open knife and condom wrappers found there in the past. No criminal activity was found and the juveniles were reminded to pick up their trash when they left. On Ninth Avenue, a mother and son were called in over a verbal argument that resulted in him spraying her with the hose. The son was upset that she had taken her car to the mechanic rather than pay him to fix it. A disorderly was reported on Third Avenue, where the caller had been walking their dog and it defecated in the road; they went inside to get a bag, and a man driving a gold lifted truck with a Confederate flag on the back started yelling in the street. The caller was concerned he may be after them.
Sept. 14
On Eighth Avenue, an unconscious man was called in for a Fentanyl overdose, the caller started CPR. The dog poop battle on Third Avenue continued, as officers discovered that neighbors were upset to find baggies everywhere, and everyone believed everyone else was doing it. One neighbor was taking photos of the other’s truck when the property owner emerged with a rifle and threatened to kill the other. They agreed to leave each other alone moving forward, no charges pressed.
Sept. 15
A man was arrested on a warrant on Railroad Street after allegedly pointing weapon at police.
Sept. 16
A gun was stolen from a vehicle on Crescent Drive, last seen Sept. 10. Two missing young girls were called in and returned to Seventh Avenue, found playing. A male patron broke a sink on Nucleus Avenue and was becoming verbally agitated.
Sept. 17
A disturbance of the peace was called on a man reportedly beating a woman on Highway 2, the female stated he never struck her.
