Glacier July visitation up slightly over last year
Glacier National Park’s visitation remained virtually flat for July compared to last year, as it was up 0.8% with 736,577 visitors.
Polebridge, Many Glacier and Two Medicine were all down, but the West Entrance more than made up for it, up almost 9%.
This was the first year for reservation requirements for Two Medicine and Many Glacier.
Two Medicine was down 14% with a total of 52,691 visitors, while Many Glacier was down 16.5% with 84,742 visitors. Polebridge was down about 5,000 visitors, with 15,643.
The west entrance saw 338,439 visitors.
Even with the reservation system, the park is on pace to hit or come very close to 3 million visitors again this year. To date it’s seen 1.595 million, with August yet to be tallied and September busy as well.
