After a snowy week in Glacier National Park some roads that were closed due to the white stuff have since reopened.

The Chief Mountain and Many Glacier Roads are plowed and open but folks should expect some ice. The Two Medicine Road is open to Running Eagle Falls.

The Going-to-the-Sun Road is open to Avalanche Creek on the west side and Rising Sun on the east side. The alpine section is open to hikers.

Vehicle access to Bowman and Kintla lakes has closed due to snow and ice and on the roads. The Inside Road is also closed on the south end at Fish Creek.

Folks can drive into Big Prairie from Polebridge, however.

This winter skiers and snowshoers will be able to complete some traditional routes over Upper McDonald Creek. Once the construction season ends, folks will be able to ski across the old North Lake McDonald Bridge this winter. People are asked to avoid the new bridge, which is still under construction.

Construction will resume on the new bridge next spring. When it does, the area will close again until the new bridge is finished in 20924.
