Glacier's Logan Pass reopens to vehicles

Glacier National Park's Logan Pass reopened to vehicle traffic late Tuesday.
The Going-to-the-Sun Road had been closed since late last week due to snow and ice.
The road will close to Logan Pass for good late in the day Oct. 15.
This week the weather is expected to improve, with highs in the 60s by Thursday and even close to 70 by the weekend.
Once the road closes on Oct. 15, the park keeps the Sun Road open until mid-December to Avalanche Creek on the west side. After that, the winter closure is at Lake McDonald Lodge until next spring.
The east side closure depends largely on the weather.
Glacier has seen snow in higher terrain over the past few days.
