Drawings coming up for bison hunt on Blackfeet Reservation

Hunters can now enter for a guided guaranteed bison hunt on the Blackfeet Nation. 

There will be five separate drawings:

Bull No.1 is Oct. 28 - Nov. 16 with drawing Nov. 17

Bison No. 2 is Nov. 18 - Dec. 14 with drawing Dec. 15

Bison No. 3 is Dec. 16 - Jan.4 with drawing Jan. 5

Bison No. 4 is Jan. 6 - Feb. 1 with drawing Feb. 2

Bison No. 5 is Feb. 3 - March 1 with drawing March 2.

Chances are $10 each and hunters can purchase up to 20 chances. The lottery is open to all hunters – tribal members, non-members, Montana residents and non-residents. Winners must pay the Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife Department $2,500 within one week of successful draw to secure the hunt. The exception to this is if more than 2,500 chances are sold through the lottery, the license will be free to the winning hunter. Successful hunters can keep the bison’s head, hide, and meat.
