Jellison Road home ruined in Sunday morning fire

| March 27, 2023 7:05 AM

Columbia Falls firefighters responded to a house fire on Jellison Road early Sunday morning. Columbia Falls fire chief Karl Weeks said the call came out about 3:07 a.m.

The two occupants were able to get out safely but an Evergreen firefighter suffered a broken leg after he slipped on the icy driveway.

The house, while it was still standing, was about 50% gutted from the blaze, which remains under investigation. Weeks said initial attack was able to quickly hit the fire, but the house was already in flames when they arrived.

Evergreen, Whitefish and Bad Rock all responded with mutual aid. Firefighters were clear from the scene at 7:58 a.m.
