Wildcat summer swim team hopes for success
The Columbia Falls summer swim team has kicked off its season. The team has about 100 swimmers this year, said coach Kyle Babcock.
The Wildcats already won a meet in Shelby earlier this month, setting five new pool records.
Top swimmers include Quentin Babcock and Payson Scribner, to name a couple.
The team’s home meet is July 7-8. The state meet is in Conrad July 29-30.
Coach Babcock said one of the main goals this season is to reduce the number of disqualifications. So far, they’re running about 10%, which is good.
The team has swimmers from age 4 to 18.
“It’s a really good mix,” Babcock said.
This year the teams to beat across the state include Lewistown, Sidney and Chinook, Babcock said.
The goal is simple.
“We want to bring home a trophy this year,” he said.
Babcock is assisted my Megan Zika, Thane Borgen and Sadie Cheff.
