The Glacier Twins A American Legion baseball squad went 5-1 on the week. They dropped Libby’s 18U squad 17-1 and 10-5 in a doubleheader last Wednesday, then split a doubleheader against the Kalispell Lakers A squad Friday, winning the first game 3-0, but losing the nightcap 6-2.

On Saturday they had another doubleheader against Kalispell and won both, 6-5 and 8-5 respectively.

The Twins are now 24-8 on the season.

Kellen Kroger got the win on the mound for the Twins in the first doubleheader Friday.

He gave up just four hits. Against Libby in the nightcap last week, Mikey Glass had a homer as the Twins put up 15 hits against the Loggers.

In the Saturday opener the Twins found themselves in a 4-2 hole after three innings, but Glass hit a line drive double to drive in a pair of runs and then they took the lead in the sixth on a pair of sacrifice flies.

Dayne Tu came in to pitch four innings of relief.

In the nightcap, Glass and Tristan Butts hit RBI doubles in the first inning of the second game, helping Glacier to a 4-0 lead. After the Lakers closed to 4-2, Josiah Ruther added an RBI single for the Twins in the third inning. Maddux Muller hit a two-run single in the fifth and Glass added a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

The Lakers brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh, but got no closer.

Twins pitcher Talon Murphy worked around two hits, six walks and a hit batter in five innings, allowing four runs. He struck out four. Dawson Juntunen threw the last two innings.

The regular season is over. The Twins (24-8) now play in the Western District tourney starting Wednesday (today) in Polson.
