Swim team wins home meet by a wide margin
The Columbia Falls summer swim team won its home meet over the weekend in dominant fashion.
With 91 swimmers in the pool, the team amassed 1,597.5 total points. This was almost 900 points above the second place team.
“Our kids swam extremely tough this past weekend. We won our home meet and had two high point winners along with a handful of kids in the top three of their age groups. Our rate of disqualifications was the lowest it has been this season.
“That is a huge accomplishment with 91 swimmers and 324 swims taking place during the meet. Our community is hyped up in support of these kids and our swimmers are so very strong. We are ready for the final push towards the Divisional and State swim meets,” coach Kyle Babcock said.
Congratulations to the high point winners in their age category for the day:
Hadley Edwards (high point winner in girls 9-10)
Catherine Opalka (tied for high point winner in girls 11-12)
CFST has their final regular meet of the season next weekend July 15 - 16 in Fort Benton before they start to gear up for the divisional and state meets to end the season.
The team would like to thank everyone who came out to cheer them on.
