Speech and debate takes seventh straight A school title

The Columbia Falls speech and debate team continued its roll this week, with its seventh straight first-place finish among class A schools as it competed in Corvallis last weekend.

The Wildcats took first in Class A and third overall among the 14 A/B/C schools and eight AA varsity teams at the meet.

The Wildcats wrap up the regular season in Whitefish this weelend. They then host the Western A divisional tourney on Jan. 21.

At Corvallis, the following students placed in their events:

Carson Settles - First in Informative

Ava Minns-Prezeau and Celestine Young - First in Policy debate

Eddie Chisholm - First in Lincoln Douglas debate

Boone Shanks and Lauren Rogers - Second in Policy debate

Reed Wollenzein and Carson Settles - Fifth in Duo Interp

Robyn Maddux - sixth in Memorized Public Address

Ruby Davis - sixth in Informative

Zack Tillman and Lucas Counts - Seventh in Duo Interp

Merrell Cooley - Eighth in Memorized Public Address
