The Blotter: Hit and Run flees to Whitefish

Report of a hit and run, a maroon Chevy Impala with a damaged front wheel and missing passenger mirror — was seen crashing into two parked cars and almost hit a reporting party. The car was last seen heading into Whitefish when the party hung up.

Feb. 9
Two barking dogs caused a disturbance to neighbors on 4th Avenue. A party on Nucleus Avenue overheard someone bragging about trading drugs for their vehicle, believed the car had “fictitious plates and an invalid drivers license.”
Feb. 10
A driver reported seeing a black Subaru exceeding 100 mph cut off a truck using the shoulder on Highway 2 and the truck began chasing the Subaru. Reports of a squatter in a home on 6th Street. A female reported receiving threats from an overseas account to send money or they would release nude pictures of them; police advised not to send the money as it did not appear a valid threat.
Feb. 11
Reports of animal cruelty involving a dog on Bills Lane. A party on Peaceful Drive claimed a dog had arrived on their property late in the night and attacked one of her dogs. Report of a reckless driver tailgating cars heading westbound on Highway 2.
Feb. 12
Police responded to a possible suicide threat on 3rd Avenue.
Feb. 13
A female has been receiving multiple voicemails from her mom’s ex-husband who lives in Missoula, despite being a blocked number, who wants to get in contact with the mom. Police spoke with an 11-year -old on Bills Lane who had been making some poor decisions.
Report of a swerving vehicle on Highway 206 almost causing several accidents.
