The Blotter: A Subway sandwich gets violent
Jan. 23 A man was charged with trespassing after repeatedly entering Columbia Falls City Hall and causing disturbances with his behavior, including yelling and being disrespectful towards city employees. A two-car collision occurred at the stop sign near Glacier Gateway, no injuries. A reckless driver was seen on Nucleus in a black SUV.
Jan. 24 A truck with an unsecured camper was spotted swerving on Highway 2. A person was spotted walking along Highway 2 carrying a bat hitting chunks of ice, which raised concerns.
Jan. 25 Two tubs of ice fishing gear were reported stolen on Darlene Road. A man with low blood sugar tried to steal two bags of candy and an energy drink from a store but collapsed before he could get away. A party claimed someone poured a flammable liquid all over their steering wheel. He claimed he knew who did it.
Jan. 26 A teacher at an elementary school was receiving violent threats over voicemail. Disorderly conduct at the Subway on Highway 2, an upset customer came in asking for her sandwich to be remade, after leaving with a new sandwich an employee came out and tried to fight with the customer in the parking lot but was restrained by another employee; alcohol possibly involved.
Jan. 27 Report of a house fire on 4th Avenue, extensive damage to structure, no injuries. A suspicious male in a trenchcoat was seen walking along Highway 2 with what appeared to be a shotgun.
Jan. 28 A shoplifter was detained at a store on 9th Street. A fight broke out between siblings at a residence on 1st Avenue, one brother tried to choke the other, possibly had mental issues. A shoplifter from Super One was seen near the Blue Moon with a grocery cart full of stolen items.
Jan. 29 Medical units responded to a call about an older man having a heart attack on Franlou Park Lane.
