Seniors sign to play ball at the college level

| December 27, 2023 11:32 AM

Three Columbia Falls seniors signed with colleges to play ball next year.

Haden Peters and Demye Rensel signed to play softball with Wenatchee Valley College in Washington state. Matthew Mitts will play baseball with the Grays Harbor Chokers, also in Washington state.

Peters and Rensel are both key members of the Columbia Falls softball team and hope to bring back another state A championship this season after winning one last year.

Last season Peters had a .554 batting average and .606 on base percentage for the Wildkats. She had 10 homers.

Rensel batted .446 for the Kats and had 145 put outs as a catcher.

Her fielding percentage was .970.

The two girls plan on rooming together, they said and are super excited to play college softball.

Mitts plays third base and pitches for the Glacier Twins. Last year he had a .300 batting average. He, too, is looking forward to playing college ball as he pursues a degree in business.
