Boys get back on track with win over Broncs

| December 27, 2023 11:15 AM

The Columbia Falls boys basketball team went into the holiday break on a high note, dropping Frenchtown at home last Tuesday 54-36.

The Wildcats had four players in double figures as Cody Schweikert had 14, Jace Hill 13, Mark Robison 12 and Dayne Tu 10.

Coach Chris Finberg said the defense led to the points.

“Our was pleased with our defensive effort, or defensive intensity and defensive execution,” he said. “That was the key to the game.”

He noted that boys really didn’t shoot the ball all that well, but still came away with the win. They were just 4 for 24 of threes.

The team will practice over the break and will have a blue and white scrimmage, Saturday, Dec. 30, with the girls at 11 a.m. and the boys at 12:30 p.m. at the gym.

The boys are on the road against Ronan Jan 2 and then face Bigfork at home Jan. 6 at 4 p.m.
