Soroptimist grants applicants sought
Nonprofit organizations that provide programs for women and girls are encouraged to apply for a grant from Soroptimist International of Whitefish (SIW). Nonprofit applicants must show financial need to provide a specific program or programs that meet the SIW mission: to improve health and safety services and/or provide education and training to further the economic empowerment of women and girls.
Since 2020, SIW has provided $98,000 in support to local nonprofit organizations that meet the SIW mission. The average grant size is $2,000 but grants have ranged from a few hundred dollars up to $15,000 during the last four years.
The application period begins Jan. 1 and closes on Jan. 31, 2024. Interested nonprofits can apply online at the SIW website or by following this link: https://soroptimistwhitefish.org/2024-grant-request-application/
Funding for SIW and its promoted programs is provided by income from the Whitefish Thrift Haus, located at 303 E. First Street in Whitefish.
The Whitefish Thrift Haus, truly where “Shopping is Giving,” is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
