Columbia Falls golf should be solid this season
The Columbia Falls golf team looks to make its mark this season, with 22 athletes total on the squad.
The boys are led by Winslow Peters and Conner Presnell and the girls are led by Addy Bowler, said coach Josiah Osborne.
The boys are hoping to qualify a team for state, something they haven’t done in quite awhile, Osborne said.
It’s also nice to see a full girls lineup, he said.
Whitefish and Polson are the teams to beat on the west side of the state and Laurel should be tough in the east. The Wildcats have already competed in a junior varsity tournment at the Glacier View Golf Course where they took third. They competed in the Browning Invitational Aug. 18 and then have the Ronan Invite Aug. 24.
They host a tournament at Meadow Lake golf course Aug. 28. Tee times start at noon.
Meadow Lake has been gracious in not only hosting a home tournament, but also allowing the team to practice there, Osborne said. He also said it was great that West Glacier supported the junior varsity tournament.
Osborne is assisted by coach Jamie Heinz.
