Blotter: Extra patrols requested on Second Avenue

August 8

Dispatch was called to put down a deer struck by a car on Ninth Street. On Franlou Park Lane, a man called regarding his escaped dog, which his neighbor had secured in her house, but was not releasing to him immediately. Police told him he would be assisted if the dog was not returned when the woman came back home. On Nucleus Avenue, bear spray was accidentally discharged indoors, fire officials were called to help ventilate the building.

A camera located in the front seat of a vehicle was stolen off of Second Avenue. On Talbot Road, a business was issued a citation for city zoning non-compliance. A male suspect in a red van was reported threatening a victim with a knife and putting them in a chokehold off of Highway 2.

August 11

A deer struck by a train, still alive in the tracks, was called in to be put down. A woman whose car keys were stolen in Las Vegas reported that she suspects she is being stalked on her travels after finding a gummy worm in her vehicle. Checks were stolen out of a man’s mailbox and cashed on Hellman Lane.

August 12

A stolen vehicle was recovered on Highway 2 and returned. An underage female attempted to buy cold medicine on Nucleus Avenue, and when she was denied, an older man became aggressive with employees and was called in for disorderly conduct. Also on Nucleus Avenue, a man was called in for taking his clothes off and banging on parked cars. After throwing rocks at cars, he was arrested for assault. An elderly woman reported that whenever she would try to sleep, a clown, identified as her male property manager, would laugh, breathe and play music in her ceiling. The claims were unfounded and police will obtain family contacts for the woman.

On Vans Avenue, a man reported his neighbors were fighting, with one held at Tazer point. A male was detained after a short foot pursuit. Extra patrols were requested on Second Avenue after a man reported his neighbor chased two men out of his yard at gunpoint a month ago, and saw flashlights going on and off while he was smoking that night.
