Baseball team wins opener on the road against Troy, 24-0
The Columbia Falls baseball team opened up its inaugural season on the road against Troy last week, blanking the Class B Trojans 24-0.
The Wildcats put up 6 runs in the third, one in the fourth and 18 in the fifth to blow the game open.
They had 12 hits and no errors.
Mark Robison went 3 for 3 at the plate and drove in four runs for the Wildcats. Kellen Kroger got the win on the mound for the Wildcats. Ethan Austin, Talon Murphy and Dawson Juntunen also pitched in relief for a combined no hittter.
Kroger also had 3 RBIs.
Everyone hit the ball against the Trojans. Cody Schweikert had 3 RBIs; Jace Hill and Alihn Anderson had 2 RBIS and Reggie Sapa went 2 for 3 leading off for the Cats.
They were scheduled to play Eureka at home Tuesday, but the weather forecast wasn’t too promising.
The next scheduled game is Frenchtown April 18 at Sapa Johnsrud fields at 6 p.m.
