First valley snow expected Tuesday into Wednesday
Skiers rejoice.
Snow is expected to reach the valley floors Tuesday night into Wednesday, the National Weather Service is predicting.
The region could see 3 to 5 inches of snow with more in the mountains, National Weather Service Meteorologist Luke Robinson said Monday.
“Three inches is a pretty good bet,” he said.
A winter storm watch is up for east of the Divide over the same time period, with 5 to 8 inches of snow expected.
There will be a brief warmup Friday and Saturday with highs in the 40s and rain, so the lower terrain snow will melt some, but roads could be icy..
But then another front is expected to roll through Saturday into Sunday and by Monday, highs will be in the 20s and lows in the teens to single digits in the higher terrain.
East of the Divide it will be even colder next week, with highs in the single digits and teens expected by Monday and lows near zero to the low teens.
“It will be a busy start to November,” Robinson noted.
