The Blotter: Man hunting for bear with a bow on Nucleus
Oct. 7
A manager on 12th Avenue reported a camper parked in the parking lot of their store for several days. A man driving down Highway 2 towards Coram saw an older woman beating something in the back of her car, he got out and heard children screaming, the female was attempting to kill a spider that was scaring the kids. Two females, possibly on drugs, were yelling at each other on 7th Street. A skinny male was seen throwing rocks on Nucleus Avenue.
Oct. 8
A man on Nucleus was attempting to archery hunt a bear that had been seen in the area, Montana Fish and Game informed him he needed a special permit to hunt within the city limits. A mother reported her son had taken her '94 green Ford Explorer and to keep an eye out for it. A woman complained that her neighbor’s burn pile was causing her allergies to flare up. A puppy was left in a car for hours near the playground at a park on 7th Street.
Oct. 9
Report of a man seen wandering 6th Street knocking on doors, reporting party said he had a gun in his pocket; police arrived and the man admitted to doing methamphetamines the night before and offered to give his wife the gun until he felt normal. A power outage caused confusion at several intersections in town as all the lights went black. Report of someone unraveling toilet paper all over a park gazebo.
Oct. 10
Report of a statue being defaced on 9th Street as well as satanic messages left with chalk in the parking lot. A woman on 7th Street reported someone trying to break into her storage shed, minimal damage left. A woman was pulled over for doing 90 mph through a 45 mph speed zone on Highway 2.
