Another arctic blast Thursday into Friday
Another arctic blast is expected to sweep across the region Thursday into Friday.
It probably won’t bring much snow — 1 to 2 inches, said National Weather Service meteorologist Jen Kitsmiller, but winds will be gusting up to 40 mph.
“It will probably be a little colder,” than the blast we had earlier this month. “But it doesn’t look like a big snow producer.”
Below zero lows are possible, single digit lows probable, and highs in the teens and 20s.
Inversions will likely set it for the weekend, though Friday should have clear, but cold, skies.
Things should moderate by next week, but we could see a sloppy mix.
An atmospheric river of moisture off the Pacific Ocean could bring heavy snow to the hills and rain/snow mix to the valleys.
The timing of that feature hasn’t been nailed down yet by the weather models, but Thanksgiving travel could be impacted.
