Kenneth S. Olson

Kenneth Shane Olson passed away Feb. 7, 2022 at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell.

Ken was born in Kalispell, Montana to Ken Olson and Jean Fish Olson on Aug. 30, 1957. He grew up in Columbia Falls and graduated from Columbia Falls High School. He traveled near and far but lived the majority of his life in Columbia Falls. In 1979 he married Melanie Larson, with whom he had three sons. They later divorced.

In 2008, Ken married Mary MacDonald Morrison in South Africa. With that marriage, he gained three stepsons.

Ken worked at the Plum Creek MDF plant in various capacities for 28 years. He especially enjoyed his time there as a laboratory technician at the MDF lab. He was a self-employed videographer, filming weddings, horse training/equine events, industrial safety videos, and television commercials.

He was an avid shooter. He enjoyed scuba diving, photography, camping with family in Apgar, and spending time on his boat on Flathead Lake.

Ken is survived by his sons, Kenneth O. Olson, Cy Olson, and Dylan Olson; his two grandsons, Carter Olson and Jaxon Olson; his sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Britt Stratton; his sister and brother-in-law Shelley and Glenn Graham; and three stepsons, James (Heather), John (Breanna), and Josh (Nikki) Morrison. He will also be missed by his nephew, nieces and cousins.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Olson, his parents, Ken Olson and Jean Fish Olson Mills, and his step-father Cecil Mills.
