The Columbia Falls boys basketball team had a solid week on the home hardwood. They beat conference foe Browning 66-51 in a grind that saw 51 fouls total Friday. On Saturday, they thumped Class B Florence 79-40.

Then on Monday they dropped class B Bigfork, 48-43.

Against Browning, Jace Hill led the squad with 17, followed by Cody Schweikert with 15 and Alihn Anderson with 11.

Coach Chris Finberg said the fouls were called evenly, with the Wildcats committing 23 and the Indians 28. The Cats just shot better from the line, going 20 of 33. They also had just nine turnovers, while Browning had 22.

Against Florence the Cats just had a good all-around game, Finberg noted. They spaced the ball well and took quality shots.

“Everyone got involved and everyone contributed,” Finberg noted.

Against the Vikings, Hill led the scoring with 10.

They face another conference foe in Polson Thursday. The Pirates took third at state last year and have a good core of returning players.

It should be an excellent game.

The home stretch ends for the boys in December. They’re on the road entire month of January.
