Victim identified in Snowlip shooting

A man who was allegedly shot to death near Essex has been identified as Jeremy McKenzie, 36, according to a report by KRTV.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino told the TV station that McKenzie was shot after an apparent altercation at the Snow Slip Motel shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 16.
The Snowslip is a small bar and motel along Highway 2 between Essex and Marias Pass.
No formal charges had been brought against the alleged shooter by presstime.
Heino said in an email late last week to the Hungry Horse News that investigators were awaiting autopsy and crime lab reports, which could take some time.
Investigators have been quiet on details surrounding the shooting.
