Columbia Falls soccer standout Cheyanne Johnston-Heinz will attend Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon in the fall,

But while she plans on playing soccer for the Division III school, Johnston-Heinz said her scholarships are academic.

Johnston-Heinz has a 4.1 grade point average and plans on studying pre-physical therapy. She then plans on attending graduate school to get her physical therapy certification.

Johnston-Heinz said she chose the school because it “was the perfect distance from home,” and it was in a city.

“I want to try something different,” she said.

Johnston-Heinz lettered and started all four years of her high school soccer career and scored 21 goals her senior year.

She’ll play under coach Jim Tursi at Lewis and Clark. Last year the Pioneers went 11-6-3 overall.
